CONVERSION OF A TWIN HOUSING UNIT TO AN OFFICE BUILDING

The renovation of these old, neglected adjoining units including modifications necessary to fulfil the functions needed by a factoring firm had to be executed within certain limitations required by the Municipality. The building, the design and the application of which was completed within a short period of two months had to be supported with steel structures in order to achieve open space for new functions. The windows which did not have a regular pattern were organized to create a balanced distribution on the façade. Also, a triangular entrance was designed to emphasize this part of the building.

Levent'te eski ve oldukça harap durumdaki bir ikiz evi bir factoring şirketinin amaçlarına göre düzenlemek üzere hazırlanan bu projede, belediyenin cephede köklü değişikliklere izin vermemesi nedeniyle cephe düzenlemesi belli sınırlar içinde kalmıştır. İki ay gibi kısa bir sürede hem projesi, hem de uygulaması gerçekleştirilen binanın büro kullanımına dönüştürülmesi için yığma yapının kimi bölümleri askıya alınarak yeni bir strüktürle bürolar için açık mekanlar elde edilmiştir. Dış cephede belli bir düzeni olmayan mevcut pencereler, iç planlamaya göre düzene sokulmuş ve dış cephelerde dengeli bir boşluk - doluluk oranı elde edilmiştir. Ayrıca giriş bölümü bir üçgen rüzgarlıkla öne çıkarılmıştır.
