26,372 m² land area of the Kandilli Campus of Boğaziçi University was used for a housing project for faculty members. The project, with a construction area of 7,315 m², consists of 18 blocks with a total of 72 units. In the 72 units, 2 and 3-bedroom apartment types are arranged to meet different needs.
The decision to utilize the view as much as possible has been the main factor in the layout of the buildings. For this purpose, different housing typologies were analyzed, solutions were sought to ensure that all blocks benefit from the view. By taking advantage of the slope the houses were placed in two rows so as not to screen each other.
Hipped roofs, which are used in the Bosphorus due to the current zoning plan, are arranged as a "fifth facade" with a contemporary interpretation. In the concept, a 5th façade has been created in accordance with the character of the Bosphorus, increasing the greenery, with a hipped front and a terraced green roof in the middle.
The species and ages of the existing trees in the area have been determined, and care has been taken to preserve the trees in their places. Sunshades and partial eaves on the roof provide protection from the sun, while the buildings are placed at an angle against the negative impact of the north.
Another feature of this project is that it is designed as "Turkey's first modular green building".
